General comment This life cycle assessment relates to balconies, a specific product manufactured by thomas praefab Międzyrzecz Sp. z o.o. (single-product EPD). The balconies consist of a supporting reinforced concrete slab, which is usually thermally decoupled from the building’s external wall to minimise heat loss. Thanks to the high thermal mass of the concrete, the balcony helps maintain a balanced indoor climate by preventing overheating in summer whilst reducing energy requirements in winter. The result is a durable, resource-efficient concrete balcony. The balconies require no additional packaging; once completed, they are delivered directly to the construction site on Inloader pallets and assembled there.
