Diese Umwelt-Produktdeklaration (EPD) ist als Durchschnitts-EPD angelegt und repräsentiert ein typisches Produkt dieser Kategorie. Die zu deklarierenden Produkte werden in aktuell insgesamt 9 Verarbeitungsbetrieben der Lotter-Gruppe entweder in Lagerformaten verwendet oder nach Planzeichnungen geschnitten und gebogen und ggf. mit Gewinden für Schraubverbindungen versehen und an Baustellen im Absatzgebiet geliefert. Die Lotter-Gruppe bezieht aktuell den benötigten Betonstahl in den unter 2.1 aufgeführten Lieferformen von Stahlwerken bzw. Herstellerwerken in Europa – und hier vorzugsweise aus Deutschland -, die den Stahl im Elektrolichtbogenverfahren (EAF) aus Schrott erschmelzen und/oder zum Endprodukt auswalzen bzw. recken und spulen oder das Vormaterial (Betonstahl in Ringen, Walzdraht) von diesen beziehen und zu kreuzweise verschweißten Betonstahlmatten oder kaltverformtem Betonstahl weiter verarbeiten. Der Anteil an Schrott am Endprodukt beträgt gemäß der LEED-Veröffentlichungen der Herstellerwerke im Mittel ca. 97%. Der restliche Anteil sind Legierungselemente, um die gewünschten chemischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften des Betonstahls gemäß der gültigen Norm zu erreichen. Der von den Stahlwerken bezogene Betonstahl ist demnach als ein Recycling-Produkt einzustufen. Es ist kein biogener Kohlenstoff in Betonstahl und den Verpackungen enthalten. The products to be declared consist of reinforcing steel in bars and coils as well as reinforcing steel meshes made of cross-welded reinforcing steel bars and metallic spacers for the upper reinforcement, hereinafter referred to as “reinforcing steel.” This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is designed as an average EPD and represents a typical product of this category. The products to be declared are processed in currently nine fabrication facilities of the Lotter Group, either used in stock dimensions or cut and bent according to construction drawings and, if necessary, fitted with threads for screw connections and delivered to construction sites within the sales region. The Lotter Group currently sources the required reinforcing steel in the supply forms listed under 2.1 from steel mills or manufacturing plants in Europe—preferably in Germany—which melt the steel in electric arc furnaces (EAF) from scrap and/or roll it into the final product or draw and coil it. They may also source the semi-finished material (coiled reinforcing steel, wire rod) from these mills and further process it into cross-welded reinforcing steel meshes or cold-formed reinforcing steel. According to the LEED publications of the manufacturing mills, the proportion of scrap in the final product averages approximately 97%. The remaining share consists of alloying elements to achieve the required chemical and physical properties of the reinforcing steel in accordance with the applicable standard. The reinforcing steel supplied by the mills can therefore be classified as a recycled product. No biogenic carbon is contained in the reinforcing steel or in the packaging materials.
